The trek starting from Minapin Nagar at an elevation of 2012 meters is considered one of the easiest treks in the region. It offers trekkers a unique opportunity to witness the beauty of the Karakoram Highway (KKH) and the majestic peaks that soar to heights of 7000 meters.
The trek initially leads to the base camps of Rakaposhi and Diran, two prominent peaks in the area. As trekkers ascend, they are greeted by breathtaking views of these towering giants, providing an unforgettable experience amidst the rugged beauty of the Karakoram Range.
Continuing on the trek, adventurers reach Kachali Lake, nestled in the Mirshikar Base Camp area. This pristine lake offers a serene setting amidst the towering peaks, providing a perfect spot for relaxation and reflection.
From Kachali Lake, the trek ascends further to Mirshikar Peak, offering trekkers the opportunity to challenge themselves and experience the thrill of reaching higher altitudes. Itineraries
Day 1
Islamabad
Arrive Islamabad. Meet at the airport and transfer to hotel.
Overnight hotel.
Day 2
Gilgit
Fly to Gilgit 1 hr (subject to weather). Upon arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight hotel.
In case of cancellation of flight drive (12-14 hrs) by coach to Chilas on Karakorum Highway.

Day 3
Gilgit or Chilas - Hunza
(100km from Gilgit or 250km from Chilas)
Drive on KKH through the legendary Hunza where peace and contentment prevails.

Day 4
Hunza- Minapin - Hapakun (2860m)
Drive to Minapin (2245m) half an hour and trek to Hapakun 3-4 hrs. A steep slope starts from Minapin. The entire trek is through a Juniper forest. Overnight camp.
Day 5
Hapakun - Tagafari (3450m)
Continue trek under the Juniper forest for about 3-4 hours to Tagafari. Another steep climbing day. Rest of the day will be free to explore the area. This is also a base camp for Rakaposhi (7788m). Overnight camp.
Day 6
Kacheli Lake (3950m)
Walk from Tagafari to Kacheli Lake.
Overnight camp.
Day 7
Higher Camp (4870m)
Climb easy grade snowy slopes for 6-7 hours to the higher camp from where we have beautiful views of north Faces of Diran and Rakaposhi.

Day 8
Kacheli Camp
Leave the camp past midnight and continue climb to the summit. Some of the most amazing views of Rakaposhi, Diran, Ultar, Lady Finger and both Hunza and Nagar Valleys. Climb down to the camp at Kacheli.

Day 9
Tagafari - Minapin
Trek down to Kacheli and continue to Minapin. Overnight Guest House.
Day 10
Besham
Drive to Besham (14-15 hrs) along the Indus, which divides the Karakorum and Himalayas as it enters Pakistan below Ladakh. From here we will follow the West bank of Indus to Besham (altitude 850 m) a small transit village fast becoming a town. Overnight hotel
Day 11
Taxila - Islamabad
Morning drive on KKH to Islamabad. Leave the Indus River at Thakot by crossing a bridge and continue through Chatar plains, Mansehra and Abbotabad.
En-route visit Taxila. (Taxila ranks among the great archaeological finds of the world. Conquered by Alexander the Great in 327 BC, it progressed under the Mauryans and the Great Kushans and became a learning centre. Destroyed by the White Huns it finally fell to the invading troops of Mahmud of Ghazni in 1000 AD).

Full day for sightseeing at Islamabad/Rawalpindi.
