The tour to the beautiful Shimshal Valley is accessible only through a narrow, barren gorge opposite the new Passu (Jan Abad) across the Hunza River. This small, narrow path leads to an area known as the "paradise of the Upper Hunza" and the "village on the sky." Shimshal is bordered by the Hunza River to the west, Baltistan to the east, and the Khunjerab Pass and Xinjiang to the north.
A jeep road traverses around half a dozen bridges before reaching the cultivated fields and green terraces of Shimshal village. Shimshal is renowned for producing exceptional mountaineers, tourist guides, and porters. Many of its mountaineers have successfully scaled 8000-meter peaks, contributing to the village's esteemed reputation in the mountaineering community.
