Deosai, meaning "sleeping giant," is the highest and largest plateau on Earth, averaging 4200 meters above sea level. Located 32 km south of Skardu in Northern Pakistan, the Deosai Plateau spans nearly 3,000 square kilometers. From mid-June to mid-September, Deosai offers spectacular scenery, highlighted by numerous species of vegetation. This plateau is a crucial habitat for the endangered Himalayan Brown Bear and many other wild animals, making it the largest Wildlife National Park in Northern Pakistan.
In August, spring arrives, transforming Deosai into a paradise. Millions of wildflowers bloom across the lush green grasslands, creating a vibrant landscape of rolling hills, crystal-clear streams, and snow-covered peaks in the background.
The journey to Deosai traverses the stunning mountain ranges of the Himalayas and Karakoram, offering spectacular scenery along the Karakoram Highway. Before reaching Deosai, travelers are treated to the magical views of Nanga Parbat, standing at 8125 meters.
