The Great Trango Tower is a magnificent granite spire located in the Baltoro region, surrounded by other jagged granite needles and blocks. It is set amidst the stunning landscape of the Trango Glacier, adding to its allure and grandeur.
To reach the base camp of the Great Trango Tower, one must follow the trail that divides at the snout of the Baltoro Glacier. Taking the left branch, climbers and trekkers are treated to breathtaking views and a panoramic vista of towering peaks. Along the way, one can marvel at Paiyu Peak (6660m), Uli Biaho Tower (6417m), Liligo, Urdukas Peak, Gasherbrum IV (7925m), Mitre Peak (6025m), and many other majestic mountains.
The amphitheatre formed by these towering peaks provides an ideal setting to appreciate some of the most awe-inspiring and unique mountain vistas in the world. Itineraries
Day 1
Islamabad
Arrive Islamabad. Official briefing.
Day 2
Skardu/Chilas
Fly to Skardu. (Flight is subject to weather).
In case of cancellation of flight drive (10-12 hrs) by coach to Chilas (480 km) on Karakoram Highway.
Day 3
Chilas/Skardu
Day free at Skardu. If your are driving, complete road journey (07-08 hrs) to Skardu (275 km) En-route has good view of Nanga Parbat (8125m).
Day 4
Askole (3000m)
By jeeps drive to Askole (6-7 hrs).
Day 5
Jhola (3200m)
Start 2-3 hours walk cross wasteland and traverse Biafo Glacier a tortured Ocean of moving
boulders and crevasses 2 km wide.
Day 6
Paiyu (3600m)
Start on a relatively easy trail for 3-4 hrs.
Day 7
Base Camp (4900m)
7-8 hours slightly easy walk, with spectacular views and gigantic mountain panorama, including Muztagh Tower, Gasherbrum IV, Mitre Peak and the mighty K-2.
Day 8-37
30 days for acclimatization and climbing.
Day 38
Trek back to Paiyu. Overnight at tent.
Day 39
Trek to Jhola.
Day 40
By jeeps drive to Askole (8-9 hrs).
Day 41
By jeeps drive to Skardu.
Day 42
Islamabad/Chilas
Fly to Islamabad (Subject to weather conditions).
In case of flight cancellation drive to Chilas. Overnight at hotel.
Day 43
Islamabad
Leisure day a Islamabad.
In case of driving, complete road journey from Chilas to Islamabad. Overnight at hotel.
Day 44
Islamabad
De-briefing. Overnight at hotel.
Day 45
Fly out.
Transfer to airport for your return flight home.
